Ternyata Radiasi Ponsel Bantu Cegah Kepikunan !

DI tengah-tengah perdebatan yang menyebutkan radiasi ponsel memicu tumor otak, ada satu hasil studi terbaru yang berlawanan.Radiasi ponsel rupanya mampu meningkatkan kemampuan memori otak.
Setidaknya inilah hasil studi yang diuji coba pada 96 ekor tikus. Gelombang radiasi yang dipancarkan ponsel disebut- sebut bisa meningkatkan aktivitas otak, bahkan melawan penyakit alzheimer, yaitu kepikunan yang disebabkan menurunnya fungsi saraf otak yang kompleks dan progresif karena otak kekurangan gizi. "Temuan ini sungguh mengejutkan, paparan radiasi ponsel rupanya melindungi memori otak tikus yang memperlihatkan gejala alzheimer," kata ketua studi Gary Arendash dari Florida Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. Seperti dilansir LiveScience , Kamis (7 /1 /2010) , studi ini dengan sengaja memberikan paparan radiasi ponsel secara terus menerus pada tikus yang memiliki gejala alzheimer. Gelombang elektromagnetik dari ponsel yang didekatkan pada tikus terbukti ampuh menghilangkan kadar beta- amyloid, yaitu protein yang berkaitan erat sebagai pemicu penyakit alzheimer. Kelompok tikus normal dengan yang memiliki gejala alzheimer sama-sama diberikan paparan radiasi ponsel dalam jangka waktu dua setengah jam per hari selama tujuh hingga sembilan bulan. Pada hasil pemindaian otak tikus, terlihat bahwa gumpalan beta-amyloid yang juga biasa disebut plak pada otak berangsur-angsur menghilang setelah terkena paparan radiasi ponsel. Para ahli berspekulasi bahwa radiasi ponsel meningkatkan temperatur otak, sehingga menyebabkan sel otak melepaskan plak 'kotor' tersebut. Mereka pun memprediksi, efek yang sama mungkin juga terjadi pada manusia. Jika benar demikian, radiasi ponsel dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mencegah dan memerangi penyakit tertentu pada manusia. Kendati demikian, penelitian pada tikus tidak selamanya dapat langsung diterapkan pada manusia, sehingga diperlukan studi lebih mendalam untuk membutikannya.

TIM dari Stanford University mengembangkan cara baru untuk mengisi ulang baterai ponsel, yaitu dengan aliran listrik dari pakaian yang Anda kenakan.
Dengan temuan ini, saat pengguna ponsel bepergian, mereka tak perlu kerepotan mencari stop kontak untuk mengisi ulang baterai ponsel. Cukup menyambungkan kabel dari celana jeans atau kemeja yang dipakai ke ponsel, maka baterai ponsel pun langsung terisi arus listrik. Namun sebagai gantinya, sepanjang malam sebelum bepergian pengguna harus mengisi pasokan listrik pada pakaian hingga penuh. Yi Cui dan timnya bekerja keras mengubah bahan kain dan polyester biasa menjadi bahan tekstil penghantar energi yang berfungsi sebagai charger untuk isi ulang baterai ponsel. "Temuan ini merepresentasikan perkembangan materi jenis baru dengan berbagai fungsionalitas baru seperti fleksibilitas, elastisitas, dan lain sebagainya. Bahan tersebut bisa digunakan untuk beragam aplikasi dan rancangan yang sebelumnya tidak mungkin dilakukan dengan teknologi tradisional," kata Yi Cui seperti dikutip dari TG Daily , Jumat (22 /1 /2010). "Pakaian olahraga berbahan khusus, penyimpan energi portabel, serta sistem monitoring kesehatan yang ditanam, merupakan contoh aplikasi baru yang gencar dikembangkan," tambahnya. Dalam temuannya ini, Yi Cui menggunakan 'tinta' berbahan karbon nanotube tunggal. Tinta ini kemudian diaplikasikan pada bahan katun dan serat polyester untuk pakaian, sehingga mengubahnya menjadi bahan ajaib yang bisa menyimpan listrik. Yi Cui mengklaim, serat bahan ini memiliki fleksibilitas dan elastisitas seperti bahan katun dan polyester biasa. Bahan ini pun sama seperti bahan pakaian pada umumnya yang bisa dicuci dan dikeringkan berulang kali.

The amazing technology cell phones have these days is surprisingly growing and developing.

Cell phones started out as an idea for a mobile phone that can be used from a car, within a given range. This was happening back in 1947. Since then, their purpose was achieved and greatly exceeded.
