Robot Pintar Yang Dapat Menebak Lagu Dengan Cepat !

SEBUAH robot asal Spanyol mungkin bisa menjadi saingan berat para peserta lomba tebak lagu.Robot pintar ini bisa mengenali berbagai lagu yang diperdengarkan dekat sensor pendengarannya.Hebatnya lagi robot ini bisa menebak berbagai jenis lagu yang diperdengarkan dengan berbagai cara, entah itu dengan bersenandung, bersiul, memainkan gitar dan piano atau alat musik lain.Robot tersebut kemudian bisa mengklasifikasikan nada berdasarkan jenis lagu dan memberitahukan lagu-lagu serupa yang mungkin kita sukai.Sebagai tambahan, robot ini pun bisa menentukan bahwa lagu-lagu yang didengarnya dinyanyikan oleh suara pria, wanita atau berkelompok.
Robot tersebut kemudian bisa mengklasifikasikan nada berdasarkan jenis lagu dan memberitahukan lagu-lagu serupa yang mungkin kita sukai. Sebagai tambahan, robot ini pun bisa menentukan bahwa lagu- lagu yang didengarnya dinyanyikan oleh suara pria, wanita atau berkelompok. Tim dari University of Malaga memang sengaja menciptakan robot ini untuk keperluan membuat dan mengatur berbagai konten musik . Salah satu profesor yang berperan dalam penciptaan robot musik ini, Isabel Barbancho menyebutkan robot yang mereka ciptakan merupakan bagian salah satu seri robot musik Lego Mindstorms NXT yang tengah dikembangkan oleh tim robotiknya. "Sebagai tambahan untuk kapasitas robot pengidentifikasi lagu ini, para ahli robot di Malaga mengembangkan sebuah sistem yang digunakan untuk mempercanggih teknologi pencipta keyboard piano virtual. Metode ini juga bisa di aplikasikan pada alat musik gambang," kata Barbancho seperti dikutip dari CNet , Jumat (8 /1 /2010). Fitur seperti ini akan sangat membantu para guru musik dengan keterbatasan alat musik untuk mengajar siswanya. Inovasi teknologi musik lainnya yang dihasilkan tim University of Malaga adalah perangkat yang mengubah lagu asli ke dalam format game seperti pada game 'Guitar Hero'. Namun game tersebut tidak untuk dimainkan pada platform game tertentu seperti PS3 misalnya. Pasalnya jumlah lagu yang dapat diubah dalam format game melalui sistem ini tidak terbatas.

Pemerintah India saat ini tengah intens berdiskusi dengan Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) di AS guna mendapatkan lisensi untuk menggunakan purwarupa atap penyimpan energi berkapasitas 1 Megawatt.

"Kami terus berkomunikasi dengan MIT, agar bisa bekerjasama memasang atap penyimpan energi untuk rumah dan perkantoran di India," kata Sekretaris Kementrian Bidang Energi India H S Brahma, seperti dikutip dari Times of India , Selasa (12 /1 /2010). Kementrian Bidang Energi India telah mengajukan proposal kerjasama dengan MIT dibawah pengawasan Indo-US Science and Technology Forum untuk mengembangkan prototip baterai penyimpan energi, dan menjadikannya produk komersil yang bisa memenuhi kebutuhan energi di India. Dengan memanfaatkan panel matahari, sebuah atap yang berfungsi sebagai baterai penyimpan energi akan mengubah cahaya matahari menjadi listrik hingga 1 MW dan menyimpannya. Energi yang tersimpan pada atap ini menjadi pasokan energi yang bisa memberikan daya bagi satu desa atau wilayah kota kecil. "Menjadi negara tropis dengan matahari yang bersinar cerah selama 10 bulan setiap tahunnya adalah modal dasar bagi India. Kondisi ini cocok bila didukung dengan teknologi baterai penyimpanan energi seperti ini," tandas Brahma.

TIM dari Stanford University mengembangkan cara baru untuk mengisi ulang baterai ponsel, yaitu dengan aliran listrik dari pakaian yang Anda kenakan.
Dengan temuan ini, saat pengguna ponsel bepergian, mereka tak perlu kerepotan mencari stop kontak untuk mengisi ulang baterai ponsel. Cukup menyambungkan kabel dari celana jeans atau kemeja yang dipakai ke ponsel, maka baterai ponsel pun langsung terisi arus listrik. Namun sebagai gantinya, sepanjang malam sebelum bepergian pengguna harus mengisi pasokan listrik pada pakaian hingga penuh. Yi Cui dan timnya bekerja keras mengubah bahan kain dan polyester biasa menjadi bahan tekstil penghantar energi yang berfungsi sebagai charger untuk isi ulang baterai ponsel. "Temuan ini merepresentasikan perkembangan materi jenis baru dengan berbagai fungsionalitas baru seperti fleksibilitas, elastisitas, dan lain sebagainya. Bahan tersebut bisa digunakan untuk beragam aplikasi dan rancangan yang sebelumnya tidak mungkin dilakukan dengan teknologi tradisional," kata Yi Cui seperti dikutip dari TG Daily , Jumat (22 /1 /2010). "Pakaian olahraga berbahan khusus, penyimpan energi portabel, serta sistem monitoring kesehatan yang ditanam, merupakan contoh aplikasi baru yang gencar dikembangkan," tambahnya. Dalam temuannya ini, Yi Cui menggunakan 'tinta' berbahan karbon nanotube tunggal. Tinta ini kemudian diaplikasikan pada bahan katun dan serat polyester untuk pakaian, sehingga mengubahnya menjadi bahan ajaib yang bisa menyimpan listrik. Yi Cui mengklaim, serat bahan ini memiliki fleksibilitas dan elastisitas seperti bahan katun dan polyester biasa. Bahan ini pun sama seperti bahan pakaian pada umumnya yang bisa dicuci dan dikeringkan berulang kali.
