What is the interest point of your room?

Any room has, or at least it should have and interest point. If there isn’t an architectural one, we’ll have to create it ourselves. But what is an interest point (or a focal point)? Things like a fireplace, a painting or a window with an interesting view can be focal points.

If the focal point doesn’t exist we’ll have to create it. Hang a painting or a valuable rug on the wall. A wardrobe or some shelves with an interesting design will have the same effect. Even a television, in particularly a special kind of TV, maybe a plasma one can become a focal point. Create a focal point by simply placing a little rug with a furniture piece on top of it.

The focal point can be compared with the verb in a sentence – you need it for the room to be complete.

Once decided upon a focal point, the furniture will be arranged in such a way that will empower it. In other words, when you are sitting in the room eyes have to look at the focal point in a natural and comfortable way.

The manner the furniture is placed must encourage conversation. The first step is to place the chairs, keeping the distance of three meters tops between them. More than that means you won’t be able to hear yourselves unless you raise your voice. Naturally the chairs or armchairs must be placed facing the फोकल

Each chair should have a little table placed at a comfortable distance. Coffee tables are usually placed at 35-40 cm and end tables are placed right next to the armchairs.

The most common furniture arrangement is the “U” shaped one, in which the open space is about to be occupied by the focal point.

Example: focal point on the northern wall, couch on the eastern wall, another couch on the western wall and two armchairs on the southern wall.

If various reasons keep us from placed the furniture in a shape resembling the letter “U”, we can always place it in ”L”, almost have of the anterior present case, with a few occasional pieces on the free side of the room.

Make your guests feel at home

You always might’ve had problems when it came to playing host for a couple of days for some relatives or friends, which came from a different city or country. You are definitely a welcoming and warm host but you had nothing to tell or do about the space you are providing them with. You only have 2 or three rooms and if you are lucky two bathrooms after all. But you don’t need a villa to make your guests feel at home. To make their days and nights in your house as pleasant as possible, just try and follow some of the advice bellow.

A healthy and calm sleep

You will win the hearts of your guests with a comfortable big and soft bed. The bed is a necessary ingredient and an element on which depends the room arrangements in luxury hotels. A good night sleep makes wonders. Maybe you don’t have a special budget for this things but it is better to offer your guests the bed you would love to sleep in. A couch just doesn’t make the trick, especially if it is placed in the living room, and everybody passes through while your guests are trying to sleep.

Invest money in quality bedroom furniture and your guests will thank you for your decision the next morning. And don’t forget about pillows! A fluffy soft pillow that sends you directly to the world of dreams is the best thing for a perfect sleep.

The desk lamp, an important object

Make sure there is enough light in the room you will host your guests in. Many people rather read a book before they go to sleep, so it is preferable that they have at the high end of their bed on a night stand a lamp, for reading, that can be turned on and off without having to get out of bed.

Create a home away from home

If your guests will stay over for more than a night, they won’t feel right without a table or a desk to write on. They might need to put order in different bills, to organize their wallet or purse, to list the details for the remaining of their trip and all these are not possible without a desk at their disposal.

A house robe and slippers to maximum comfort!

It is well known that when you go on a trip you rarely get to actually pack the bags properly and to get along all those things that actually make you feel at home. The robe and the slippers are in this category and they also are probably the first things you will not pack when planning a trip. So you must provide your guests with them, they need these to feel more at home.

A bookshelf full of books

What can be better on a trip than retrieving your calm amongst the pages of a good book? If you just finished reading an exceptional novel then you should borrow it to your guests. This is actually a very good idea, especially because your discussions about the subjects this book deals with will be fun and constructive.

The last touch

You cannot fail with a vase full of fresh flowers, placed right on the table in their room. You can decorate the room with seasonal flowers, your favorite flowers or your guests’ favorite flowers if you know that about them.

A bowl of water and glasses, a radio-clock, a body lotion are useful objects that we all have on your nightstands.

Interior designing as a couple’s therapy?

To work as a couple is usually pretty difficult, especially when you try to satisfy the tastes and desires of both parties. Each one has his or her own carrier, she has her tastes, he has his, and together they must find a solution to a compromise they never managed to make.

Pretty hard to accomplish, especially because both try to argument their point of view and they try to make their theory win in totality, without letting some ideas of the other party slip within.

The compromise

Let’s say this is a big house. She is an art collector and he isn’t. Then she gets the living as a space for her hobby and he gets the mansard. She will decide the style of one bedroom, he will decide the office-room decoration. And so on... this is usually a satisfactory solution as long as each of them gets to decorate the rooms that mean most to them.

Another approach is to try and find out just what are those common points they have. There must be common points, there always are, just that no one thought of finding them yet. Discovering common tasted will help the couple discover a new life style. This is a good solution to stay out of couples’ therapy whenever you stumble across some misunderstanding.

What to learn from this?

Each one of them has to learn something that is the whole point in these kinds of misunderstandings. They have to learn to know their limits and each other’s also. They must understand and remember the wishes and desires of the other one, they must learn not to try and impose their opinion at any cost because there surely are other solutions. Making common decisions and learning to compromise will make the couple happy.

Perfect couple for decorating the house

The perfect couple, which will please the interior designer is a couple of well educated and behaved persons. It will be a nice surprise once both persons will add their own suggestions without fighting over them, when they are correctly informed and willing to understand the other’s opinions.

Living and decorating together means mostly finding the middle ways, that can satisfy both parties and still look good.

Home Interior decoration

Home Interior Decoration – The process of decorating a home in order to make it look good becomes easier to use and gels well with the architecture. Home interior decoration provides a certain "feel" to the home; it includes applying wallpaper, painting the walls, choosing of furniture and fittings such as light fixtures, and adding decorations such as paintings.

Home interior decoration is professionally done by interior designers/ decorators and also by a few architects. There is a distinctive difference between home interior decoration and interior design.

Home interior decoration is focused on finishing, such as wallpaper, window covering, furnishings and paint. Interior design is more integrated with the architecture, and in addition to home interior decoration involves cabinet making, room layout etc and host of other design parameters that go into making a home.

Although the concept of home interior decoration evolved in Paris and London in the late 18th century, modern home interior decoration began with Jeanselme in Paris, Lenygon and Morant in London and Ogden Codman from New York. This concept of home interior decoration has gone through many trends and discussions. The current trends of this industry is to discover innovative ways to decorate on a budget mostly shoe string.

The whole objective of home interior decoration is to functionally improve the home and make it reflect your tastes and personality at the same time rendering it unique. A big challenge, nevertheless, undertaken by artistic scientists.

Homeowners spent approximately $175 billion in the year 2003 to improve their homes. About 65% of this can be attributed to home interior decoration. The new trends indicate most spending on expanding kitchens and livening up bathrooms with new fittings. Current trends also indicate that emphasis is being given to creating specialty rooms and areas for individual members of the family. Growing in popularity are massage suites, spa areas, media space, craft rooms, wine cellars and home library areas. Even though luxury is a synonym for space, most small home owners are eagerly using home interior decoration to create definition areas for each individual.

Colors are also undergoing a new preference towards earthly, natural and warm brown tones from the vibrant and loud colors of the past. Blue and gray hues are preferred today over dull reds and dark blues of the past.

Innovative home interior decoration ideas, which cost less but at the same time giving the impression of an ornate design scheme are in vogue for new career professionals and newly married couples.

The new trend of Life-styling has given home interior decoration industry a boost. This has given rise to eclectic decorating styles which include High Tech and Shabby Chic replacing the good old Victorian or Early American.

Focus has changed to harmony and function compared to uniqueness and good looking. Rightly so, since uniqueness can never be 100% and neatness has always been good looking, which can be brought about by good functionality.

Home interior decoration has changed more drastically over the past 15 years or so than in its long history. Keeping track of new trends is almost as essential as for a computer professional keeping track of new software or hardware.

Interest-Only Home Equity Line of Credit

For the homeowner in search of a home equity line of credit the availability of interest-only home equity credit lines has drawn the interest of many who seek to benefit from the value of their homes. The name itself sounds too good to be true. A look at the details could cause the homeowner to think twice before seeking an interest-only home equity line of credit. Or those same details might spur the homeowner to contemplate yet another home equity line of credit.

Banks tend to offer the homeowner more than one-way to obtain an interest only home equity line of credit. One bank for example has advertised the existence of one plan whereby the homeowner gives payments that cover the Prime plus 5% for five years. Then in the next ten years, the homeowner pays a floating interest rate, a rate that is determined by the Prime rate.

Yet that same bank also offers an alternate way for obtaining an interest only home equity line of credit. Under this alternate procedure the homeowner pays 5.75% APR for one year. Then after that first year the homeowner faces an increase of ¼ % each year until the rate is 6.75% APR. In the sixth year of this particular line of credit the homeowner pays 6.65% every month until the credit line has been paid off.

The homeowner should also consider some of the other approaches to the offering of a home equity line of credit. For example, some banks will offer a draw period at the start of the period of the credit line. During this draw period, the homeowner can withdraw funds for making advances, for repaying advances or for advancing the line of credit. The draw period is followed by a period of repayment.

Each type of home equity line of credit offers the homeowner a way to reap added benefits from the existing credit line. For example, the homeowner could choose to increase the insurance deductibles, knowing that a line of credit had been made available. The higher deductibles would guarantee a decrease in the premium payments on the insurance policy.

A home equity line of credit could also be used to buy discount credit cards at a store of the homeowner’s choosing. In addition, the possession of a home equity line of credit gives the homeowner the ability to make purchases with a Rewards credit card and to then pay the card payment with the check obtained through the credit line.

Once the homeowner has negotiated all of the intricacies of a home equity line of credit then that homeowner is ready to use multiple economic tactics in order to make more money from what he has available. He will be ready to prove the old saying: You have to have money to make money.
